Description:

United Rotary Brush is an Olathe, Kansas based manufacturer of specialty industrial brushes for the airport, road construction, street sweeping and plow industries. Our Olathe, KS, manufacturing facility (I-35 & Old 56 Hwy) is looking for a Material Handler to work Monday through Friday. Job Summary

In this position you will be responsible for moving finished goods, and loading/offloading trucks on the receiving or shipping dock.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Counts, weighs or measures incoming or outgoing items to compare identifying information and variety against bills of lading, invoices, orders or other records; examines incoming shipments for damage or shortages and corresponds with shipper to rectify; completes paperwork or forms required for documentation.
  • Provides on the job training to entry level employees and resolves problems utilizing knowledge of shipping/receiving/stock operations.
  • Operates material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks or dollies to move stock or reorganize storage.
  • Utilizes manual, system to pick orders for daily outbound deliveries.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards and with applicable laws and regulations issued by regulatory agencies.
  • Perform basic clerical skills and maintain Bill of Lading paperwork including entry into computer system.
  • Maintain cleanliness of market area, aisle, ramp, dock and compactor area.
  • Cycle count on a regular schedule with accuracy.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent GED and 1 years work experience or combinations of education and experience;
  • Previous fork truck experience is required and ability to pass forklift certification program.
  • Previous 5S exposure is desired.
  • Proficient in reading, writing and following required instructions.
  • Perform basic math functions.
  • Ability to carry and/or maneuver up to 75 pounds.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Performs other functions as necessary.
  • Must be able to meet deadlines and maintain a balance between multiple projects; fast-paced environment; and stressful circumstances.

Compensation details: 22-22 Hourly Wage
