The Warehouse / Packaging Senior Technician position is available at our Animal Health facility in De Soto, Kansas, located near Kansas City metropolitan area. The DeSoto facility is expanding operations to manufacturing vaccines and biologics for large and companion animals and leveraging an experienced and innovative team environment, the key technologies at the site are biologics production using fermentation and cell culture platforms, filling and packaging.
Working within the packaging operations teams you will be expected to be able to work independently and as part of the team to contribute to the daily completion and schedule adherence of production activities. The packaging operation is made up of teams that carry out the day-to-day production activities of sealed bottle label application, bottle packaging, palletization, process document completion, cycle counting, and inventory reconciliation.
The position requires someone who can demonstrate good attention to detail and achieve a consistent error-free execution of daily job responsibilities, be able to complete documentation using Good Documentation Practices and be able to identify opportunities for process improvement and employ basic problem-solving skills.
Required Education:
• High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum 2 years of relevant work experience - OR - Bachelor's degree in relevant field of study
Required Skills & Experience:
• Principled verbal and written communications and to effectively communicate information to colleagues at various levels
• Follow/comply with Manufacturing/Packaging Directions, Standard Operating Procedures, Company/Corporate/Regulatory Policies.
• Ability to demonstrate basic skills in effective time management to meet given deadlines.
• Demonstrates ability to work effectively with team members and show initiative to support others on the team.
• Proficient with basic computer skills including MS Word and MS Excel.
• Ability to work overtime as needed due to business demands.
• Assist in training new team members.
• Operation of a company forklift and pallet jack.
• Assist with equipment set-up and operation.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
• Experience working in a manufacturing/packaging environment.
• Good understanding of aseptic processes used in manufacturing/packaging.
• Experience using quality improvement tools and continuous improvement processes and site quality metrics.
• Experience in SAP or other ERP system
Working conditions:
• This position is Third Shift Monday – Friday, work hours are 9:30pm - 6:00am.
• Flexibility working overtime, including holidays, Saturdays and Sundays, when business needs demand
• Travel is not a part of this position
• Climate controlled and areas that are not climate-controlled
The salary range for this role is:
$59,100 - $93,000
This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, government requirements, and business or organizational needs.
The successful candidate will be eligible for annual bonus and long-term incentive, if applicable.
