Job Summary

Under the direction of the Senior Vice President of Servicing and Business Development, this position is responsible for directing the management team responsible for the performance of the Institutional Servicing portfolio. This role ensures that all regulatory, investor guidelines, and internal policies and procedures are met while delivering the highest level of service to clients and rating agencies.

Essential Functions
  • Lead and supervise the management team responsible for off-balance commercial real estate portfolios through regular in-office engagement, fostering collaboration, mentoring, and alignment across departments to ensure consistent execution and team development.
  • Oversee the Portfolio Services Warehouse team and Conversions department.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, investor, and internal servicing guidelines.
  • Monitor work output and service levels to maintain high standards for clients and rating agencies.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement strategic servicing initiatives.
  • Participate in planning sessions and contribute to workout strategies with Asset Resolution Group (ARG).
  • Review and approve complex cash management agreements and disbursements.
  • Authorize disbursements from cash management and investor reporting accounts.
  • Train and mentor staff to ensure procedural compliance and professional development.
  • Coordinate servicing transfers and ensure accurate and timely information exchange.
  • Evaluate and assign risk ratings through the Asset Quality Review (AQR) process.
  • Recommend and implement policy and procedural changes to improve departmental workflow.
  • Performs other duties as assigned; duties, responsibilities and/or activities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice.
  • Complies with all KeyBank policies and procedures, including acting professionally at all times, conducting business ethically, avoiding conflicts of interest, and acting in the best interests of Key's clients and Key.
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in business, finance, or related field (preferred).
  • OR equivalent experience (required).
Work Experience
  • 7+ years of commercial real estate servicing experience including 3+ years in a supervisory or managerial role (required).
Skills
  • Oversight of commercial real estate portfolios including conduit, agency, and life insurance clients.
  • Management of loan operations ensuring compliance with investor and regulatory guidelines.
  • Strategic oversight of property and loan assets to maximize performance and mitigate risk.
  • Identification, evaluation, and mitigation of financial and operational risks.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams across departments.
  • Collaboration with senior leadership to implement servicing initiatives and process improvements.
  • Adherence to banking regulations, investor requirements, and internal policies.
  • Review and authorization of complex disbursements and account transactions.
  • Strong verbal and written skills for internal coordination and external client engagement.
  • High-level problem-solving and data interpretation for decision-making.
  • Evaluation of property financials and loan terms for risk and performance.
  • Understanding and application of servicing agreements and legal contracts.
  • Familiarity with servicing platforms such as McCracken/Strategy and RECWeb.
  • Drafting and implementing departmental procedures and workflow improvements.
  • Commitment to delivering high service standards to clients and rating agencies.

Physical Demands

General Office: prolonged sitting, ability to communicate face to face in person or on the phone with teammates and clients, frequent use of PC/laptop, occasional lifting/pushing/pulling of backpacks, computer bags up to 10 lbs. Compensation and Benefits

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $116,000.00 - $216,000.00 annually. Placement within the pay range may differ based upon various factors, including but not limited to skills, experience and geographic location. Compensation also includes eligibility for incentive compensation which may include production, commission, and/or discretionary incentives. This position is eligible for benefits. Key has implemented an approach to employee workspaces which prioritizes in-office presence, while providing flexible options in circumstances where roles can be performed effectively in a mobile environment.
