POSITION: Pastry Sous ChefLocation: Promontory ClubPURPOSE OF POSITION:The Pastry Assistant supports the daily operations of the pastry department by assisting in the preparation, assembly, and presentation of high-quality baked goods and desserts. Working under the direction of the Pastry Chef and culinary leadership, the Pastry Assistant plays a key role in upholding Promontory Club's standards of excellence. This position requires a positive attitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to learning and teamwork.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Assist in the preparation of baked goods such as breads, cookies, pastries, cakes, and plated dessertsSupport the Pastry Chef in assembling, garnishing, and decorating desserts and bakery itemsLearn and follow recipes accurately to ensure consistent quality and presentationWork with various components such as pastry creams, glazes, chocolate, mousses, and doughsEnsure proper labeling, storage, and rotation of ingredients and finished productsMaintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry station and kitchen areaCollaborate with the culinary team to support banquet and restaurant serviceAdhere to all health and safety regulations and Promontory Club standardsQUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:1 to 3 years of experience in a professional bakery or pastry environment preferredStrong interest in pastry arts and willingness to learn and grow within the roleAbility to follow instructions, multitask, and remain organized in a fast-paced settingStrong communication skills and a collaborative mindsetFlexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidaysMust be able to stand for long periods and lift/carry trays or baking equipmentBasic knowledge of baking techniques and tools is a plusValid driver's license preferredEDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS:High school diploma or GED preferredState of Utah food handler's certification (or ability to obtain within two weeks of hire)Culinary or baking/pastry training is a plus but not requiredCOMPENSATION & BENEFITS:Starting wage: Commensurate with experience $26 to $29 per hour.Competitive pay and holiday compensationComplimentary employee mealsGolf privileges on two award-winning coursesOpportunities for professional growth within a premier private club environmentABOUT PROMONTORY CLUB:Promontory Club is an Equal Opportunity Employer and a premier private community in Park City, Utah.
