Description:The Deli Cook is a vital member of our team, responsible for preparing delicious and high-quality food items while maintaining a clean and organized work environment. This role requires a strong understanding of cooking techniques, food safety and sanitation, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, possess excellent time management skills, and thrive in a fast-paced restaurant operation.Responsibilities:* Prepare a variety of deli items, including sandwiches, salads, and sides, following established recipes and standards.* Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to strict sanitation guidelines and food safety protocols.* Being able to cook all types of foods such as meats, seafood, and vegetables.* Able to use various methods of cooking: frying, grilling, roasting, and sauteing.* Operate and maintain kitchen equipment, including grills, ovens, and slicers, ensuring proper functionality and cleanliness.* Provide exceptional customer service, addressing customer inquiries and special requests with a positive attitude.* Assist with food preparation tasks, including chopping vegetables, preparing sauces, and portioning ingredients.* Collaborate effectively with other team members, demonstrating teamwork and a positive work ethic.* Monitor food inventory and report any shortages or discrepancies to the deli manager.* Adhere to all operation procedures, including opening and closing duties.* Practice effective time management to ensure timely food preparation and service.* Maintain a focus on food safety and sanitation throughout all stages of food handling.Minimum Qualifications:* Working knowledge of cooking techniques and food preparation methods.* Possession of a valid Food Handler's Card.* General knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.* Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.* Excellent communication skills.* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.* Demonstrated ability to be detail-oriented.Preferred Qualifications:* Prior experience in a deli or similar food service environment.* Experience with grilling techniques.* Familiarity with kitchen management principles.* Experience with multitasking.
