Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Orthopedic Medical Assistant to assist physicians in patient treatment issues, provide direct patient care,and maintain proper standards of quality and integrity. This role will act as an extension of the physician in various specialties, ensuring an efficient and effective workplace while guiding patients through their healing journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the physician in patient treatment issues.
- Provide direct patient care and maintain quality standards.
- Acquire supplementary knowledge of the medical field.
- Serve as an extension of the physician in specialties such as pain management and vascular.
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Athletic Training from a CAATE accredited program is preferred.
- State Licensed (or eligible for License in MO and KS), if applicable.
- Certified Athletic Trainer through the Board of Certification, Inc. (ATC) or equivalent.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, preferred.
- 2+ years of clinical experience (Pain Management/ Orthopedic preferred).
- Understanding of Internal Classification of Diseases (ICD) and Common Procedural Terminology (CPT) coding.
- Proficient knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR); eClinical Works preferred.
- Highly detailed and accurate, with excellent organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, TEAMS).
- Computer literate with the ability to learn new software applications.
- Availability to work Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.
