About the RoleWe are seeking a Principal Consultant and Technical Lead to support our Infrastructure Advisory organization in delivering integrated resource management projects for our clients, with a focus on market modeling through platforms such as PLEXOS and Encompass.Key ResponsibilitiesLead high‑complexity consulting tasks in support of project delivery, including integrated resource planning, scenario design, assumption development, and documentation.Execute energy market modeling using PLEXOS and EnCompass to inform client strategy, integrated resource planning, and investment decisions.Translate client objectives, regulatory requirements, and market assumptions into actionable long‑term resource plans.Manage tasks, budgets, schedules, and quality requirements as a technical manager or director on strategy and planning projects.Provide technical subject‑matter expertise, recommend innovative solutions, and produce complex work products across all project phases.Lead client meetings and workshops, develop presentations, and communicate effectively with clients.Support business development activities, including development of scopes, schedules, and budgets.Conduct model QA/QC, calibration, and results validation; develop repeatable workflows, templates, and client‑ready exhibits.Perform resource adequacy, reliability, and planning reserve margin assessments; evaluate capacity accreditation and ELCC where applicable.Conduct portfolio optimization and investment planning analyses across generation, storage, transmission, and demand‑side resources.Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree (preferred).Certifications related to area of expertise, where applicable.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree or relevant work experience.Typically 10+ years of experience in a business/consulting environment.Additional RequirementsAll applicants must complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements, including background checks, drug screening, and motor‑vehicle records search, in compliance with applicable laws.Work Environment / Physical DemandsOffice environment or client site with travel up to 100%.CompetenciesAction orientedCustomer focusInterpersonal savvySalary PlanCST: ConsultingJob Grade018BenefitsOur comprehensive benefits portfolio includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, disability and wellness programs, paid vacation, holiday time, sick time, dependent sick time, flexible work schedules, 401(k) match, adoption reimbursement, tuition reimbursement, vendor discounts, an employment referral program, AD&D insurance, pre‑tax accounts, voluntary legal plan, and the B&V Credit Union.
