Job Description

As a JCPRD employee, you'll be part of a locally, regionally, and nationally acclaimed organization that annually hosts nearly 7 million park visitors and engages nearly 3 million participants in 4,000+ programs. Serving our Edgerton, Gardner area in the Southwest Region of Johnson County. Big Bull Creek Park & Mildale Farm are our Beautiful Special Event locations for weddings and meetings.

Essential Duties:

• Responsibilities include mowing, trimming, cleaning facilities, landscape planting and maintenance, sanitation collection and disposal, turf and flower care, special projects, and grounds maintenance etc.
• Part time Park Workers may operate equipment and trucks as trained, assigned, and licensed.
• Some weekends and holiday schedules will be assigned.
• $15.00 per hour / 40hrs week up to 990 Hours in season.

Duties and responsibilities, as required by business necessity may be added, deleted or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing. Scheduling and shift assignments and work location may be changed at any time, as required by business necessity.

Job Requirements

• Applicant must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record. (A driving history check will be completed as part of the application process.)
• Applicants must be at least 16 years and older.
• Note - any seasonal worker hired under the age of 18 cannot drive with a passenger.
• Applicants shall have a reliable form of transportation to work and are required to be on time.

Physical, Environmental, and Special Working Conditions:

This position requires the worker to be around loud equipment, prolonged periods of standing/walking, exposure to weather extremes, and lifting weight of up to 50lbs.

A desire to work for JCPRD, an honest commitment to do your best, if you have skills already fantastic, however we do on-the-job training.

JCPRD requires reference/background screening for all positions. Specified criteria may vary by Department.
