What to Expect as an ApprenticeAssist camp staff in daily activities, games, and programs.Help set up and clean up activity areas, cabins, and dining spaces.Support the safety and engagement of campers under staff supervision.Model positive behavior, teamwork, and respect for others.Participate in trainings and reflection sessions to learn about leadership.What to Expect as a CamperParticipate fully in camp activities and follow camper rules and expectations.Engage respectfully with peers, staff, and camp property.Demonstrate enthusiasm, curiosity, and a willingness to learn.Take personal responsibility for belongings, assigned tasks, and participation.What to Expect from WildwoodStructured introduction to camp operations and leadership.Hands-on experience assisting staff with programs and daily routines.Opportunities to develop teamwork, communication, and responsibility skills.Mentored exposure to the roles and responsibilities of camp staff.QualificationsTypically ages 15-17 and have completed at least one season in the Wildwood Leadership Program or have similar experience.Excited to learn about camp life and support campers.Able to follow instructions, work in a team, and receive guidance from staff.Positive, flexible, and eager to participate in all aspects of fortable spending lots of time outside, no matter the weather rain or shine, hot or cold!Able to lift and carry heavy items (up to 35 lbs.) when needed.Camp and Work ScheduleCamp Apprentices register and participate as campers, including arrival at camp on Monday morning and departure on Friday afternoon, using your choice of transportation. There is no charge to attend camp.During the day, Camp Apprentices spend 4-8 hours in a work environment complete with scheduled breaks and lunch provided by Wildwood.Camp Apprentices are welcome to participate in multiple sessions during the summer; however, they may not be scheduled for more than two sessions in a row.
