Food Service Worker - Residential Treatment Setting

Position Summary

The Food Service Worker prepares recommended meals for children in Camber's care and ensures food is safely handled, served, and stored. This role involves setting up serving areas, maintaining sanitation standards, and modeling professional, respectful behavior for the youth served.

Key Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Operations Department and in collaboration with a Dietician, the Food Service Worker will:

  • Prepare meals for children and adolescents in residential care
  • Arrange food and beverages on steam tables, coolers, trays, or mobile carts
  • Maintain safe food handling, preparation, and storage practices
  • Monitor and maintain proper refrigeration temperatures
  • Clean utensils, cooking equipment, and storage areas
  • Clean and sanitize serving areas daily
  • Set up and break down tables based on client census or special events
  • Model professional, courteous behavior for children and adolescents
  • Demonstrate respect for all colleagues and community stakeholders
Required & Preferred Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • One to three months of experience or training in food service, food preparation, or storage
  • Experience serving children in a school or residential treatment setting preferred
  • Comfortable using Windows-based software and email
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Valid driver's license and auto insurance
