Paraprofessional 1821 year-old Bridges Transition Program

Position Summary
ECKCE is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Paraprofessional to support students ages 1821 in our Bridges transition program. This program focuses on building independence through daily living skills, vocational training, job coaching, and functional academics aligned with students' post-secondary goals.

Responsibilities

  • Assist students in developing and practicing daily living skills (e.g., self-care, money management, cooking, community access).
  • Support vocational and employment training, including on-site job coaching at community or school-based placements.
  • Reinforce academic skills as they relate to transition goals (e.g., reading, writing, math for independent living and work).
  • Provide individualized and small-group support under the direction of the classroom teacher and special education team.
  • Support students in community-based instruction and transportation as needed.
  • Implement behavior support plans and model positive strategies to promote student independence and success.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold student dignity and respect at all times.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (some college or post-secondary training preferred).
  • Experience working with young adults with disabilities or in a school/community support setting preferred.
  • Ability to model and support daily living, workplace, and social skills in a variety of settings.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
  • Dependability, patience, and a commitment to fostering independence for young adults.
Work Schedule
  • Full-time, following the school district calendar.
