The City of Gardner is seeking a dedicated individual for the role of Plant Operator (Water). The position offers a competitive salary range of $20.00 to $27.12 per hour and is located in Gardner, KS.
This full-time position is within the Utilities department and the application deadline is continuous.
The Plant Operator (Water) performs skilled and specialized work in the operation and maintenance of the City of Gardner's water treatment plants. The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or GED and either a Kansas Class I Water Plant Operator certification or the ability to attain it within a 12-month period. Previous experience or coursework in water treatment is desired, or the equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is acceptable, with a minimum of one year of experience in operation and maintenance of a water production plant, storage facilities, inlet structures, towers, and pumping stations. A fully trained operator will hold a Class IV Water Plant Operator certification from the State of Kansas. A valid driver's license and a good driving record are required. Hours are Monday to Friday, 7:00 A.M. to 3:30 P.M., with weekend shift rotation once a month. Applications are accepted until filled.
