The Animal Control Officer will primarily work outdoors, responding to calls and patrolling assigned areas in various weather conditions. The role involves physical activity, including lifting, capturing animals, and potentially stressful situations. The officer will interact with the public, animal owners, colleagues, and other professionals to carry out their duties effectively.
The Animal Control Officer is responsible for enforcing state and local animal control laws and ordinances in the City of Olathe. They ensure the health and welfare of all animals and members of the community in the course of their work.

Qualifications:
Experience: One year of experience working with animals is required with experience working in animal control preferred.
Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Licenses & Certifications: A valid driver's license with favorable driving record is required. Animal Control Officer I and II Certification will be required through the National Animal Control Association (NACA) within the first 24 months.
