Certified Maintenance Technician

Description:

The Service Technician is responsible for maintaining the appearance and operations of the property in excellent condition, both inside and out. Daily responsibilities include preparing units for new move-ins, completing work orders (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc.), performing appliance repairs, conducting unit inspections, updating logs as needed, and maintaining exterior areas. This role will also respond to after-hours emergencies (on-call) as required.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare units for move-ins with electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, and painting repairs.
  • Complete work orders within 24 hours as directed by the Community Manager and/or Service Manager and report emergency work orders promptly.
  • Perform 24-hour emergency maintenance and on-call responsibilities.
  • Maintain property grounds, including trash pickup, sweeping, and light landscaping such as mulch and sprinkler head replacements when possible.
  • Assist with snow removal (CO, KS, UT) or hurricane preparation and cleanup (FL) as needed.
  • Demonstrate strong customer service skills and maintain clear, professional communication with residents, vendors, and team members.

What You Need to Succeed
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • 1+ years of relevant maintenance experience required.
  • OSHA, EPA, and CPO licenses/certifications preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of facilities management and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background screening prior to employment.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
  • Completion of the Wonderlic pre-employment assessment (sent via email) required if minimum qualifications are met.
