Job Description Job Description Payment Posting Specialist (Onsite | Overland Park, KS) Type: Contract-to-Hire / 520 Contract with Medix Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (30-minute lunch) Pay: $18-$20/hour About the Role We're seeking a detail-oriented Payment Posting Specialist to join a fast-paced, patient-focused ophthalmology practice in Overland Park, KS. In this role, you'll ensure all patient and insurance payments are accurately posted and reconciled, supporting the practice's financial accuracy and patient experience. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with medical billing or collections experience who thrives on precision, organization, and teamwork. Key Responsibilities Post all patient and insurance payments promptly and accurately. Balance daily payment postings with deposits. Identify and process overpayments, credits, and refunds. Resolve payment posting issues and work common denials (CO-109, B9, etc.). Verify correct payment of drug claims and ensure proper balance transfers. Collaborate with Accounts Receivable on denials or payment discrepancies. Utilize payer websites and IVR systems to research claims. Perform other related billing duties as assigned. Qualifications 1-3 years of experience in medical billing, collections, or coding . Strong proficiency in Excel and comfort navigating insurance websites and IVR systems Excellent attention to detail and time management. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. High level of professionalism and accuracy under pressure. High School Diploma or GED required. Systems You'll Use EMR system Nextech Practice Promptly Insurance payer websites Training & Environment Structured, hands-on training with the team lead after compliance completion.
