Job Details

The Controller is responsible for overseeing the overall accounting operations for assigned clients, including managing internal accounting staff. This role involves maintaining and improving accounting systems and controls to ensure the delivery of accurate and relevant financial information. The Controller will also provide consulting and support to entrepreneur and small business clients, helping them achieve their financial goals.

General Responsibilities:

• Do the extras - provide clients with unexpected service
• Consult with clients on business decisions in the areas of accounting, finance, and general business operations
• Complete Client Accounting Activities, including:
  
  • Invoicing and accounts receivable management
  • Accounts payable processing
  • Payroll - Onboarding of new employees, payroll processing, payroll tax filings
  • General ledger activities, account reconciliations, financial reporting
• Manage client cash flow (analysis and forecasting), assist client with cash flow decisions
• Develop client budgets and forecasts
• Follow and continuously develop Fortiviti processes and policies

• Bachelor's degree in accounting (or equivalent experience)
• Progressive experience in accounting/finance - preferably in public accounting, a small business or entrepreneurial environment
• Strong interpersonal skills - you will talk with clients daily
• Desire for personal growth
