Description:

A Preschool Assistant Teacher supports the lead teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for young children. They help facilitate learning and play, ensuring that the children develop emotionally, socially, and academically.Key Responsibilities:Assist in Classroom Management:Help maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.Supervise and ensure the safety of children at all times, both indoors and outdoors.Assist in implementing daily schedules, including circle time, playtime, and nap times.Support Learning Activities:Assist in delivering age-appropriate lessons and activities that encourage cognitive, emotional, and social development.Provide one-on-one assistance to children with learning needs or behavioral challenges.Help organize and set up materials for lessons and activities.Promote Social and Emotional Development:Encourage positive social interactions among children and assist with conflict resolution.Support the development of good behavior habits, emotional regulation, and positive communication.Assist with Administrative Tasks:Help with recording attendance and maintaining accurate records on student progress, behavior, and milestones.Support the teacher in preparing lesson plans, reports, and parent communications.Engage with Parents:Maintain open communication with parents about their childs progress and behavior.Help facilitate parent-teacher conferences, as needed.Supervise and Assist in Outdoor Activities:Assist with outdoor play and ensure children are engaged in safe, age-appropriate physical activities.Help children develop physical coordination and social skills through guided outdoor play.Provide Care and Support:Assist with basic care needs, such as helping children with personal hygiene (e.g., handwashing, potty training) and mealtime assistance.Ensure all childrens needs are met with compassion and patience.Qualifications:Education: A high school diploma or equivalent. Child Development Associate certification is preferred. I-Lead training preferred.Experience: Previous experience working with children in a preschool or childcare setting is preferred.Skills: Strong communication skills and the ability to work with children, parents, and staff. Patience, creativity, and flexibility. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Knowledge of early childhood development principles is a plus.Physical Demands:Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. (for handling classroom materials or assisting children as needed).Ability to sit on the floor and engage with children for extended periods.Work Environment:Preschool classroom setting.Monday to Friday from 7AM-5PM/9AM-6PM. No weekends no nights.Interaction with children, parents, and staff members throughout the day.This role is vital in fostering a positive learning experience for children at an early age and supporting the lead teacher in delivering quality education and care.
